Inaugural conference in Timisoara

The inaugural conference for the project “Forming of network for enhancing environmental protection from pollutants of mining cross border areas”, acronym NETMIN, eMS nr. RORS-308, implemented in the framework of the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme  by Politehnica University Timisoara (Romania) and the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor (Serbia) was held on Thursday, September 5^th 2019 in Timisoara. On this occasion, assoc. prof. dr. Liviu Cădariu-Brăiloiu, vice rector of UPT in charge with scientific research, innovation and technological transfer highlighted the emphasis Politehnica University Timisoara places on projects aiming to find solutions to critical issues in society, among which fighting environmental pollution. The Joint Steering Committee, comprising experts in environmental issues from the partnering institutions, resumed the following day and discusses the activities and steps towards creating the network for enhancing environmental protection from pollutants of mining cross border areas, a structure capable of designing measures for decontamination polluted soil and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources in the areas covered by the project.
