Closing Joint Steering Committee meeting

The Joint Steering Committee for the project “Forming of network for enhancing environmental protection from pollutants of mining cross border areas”, acronym NETMIN, eMS RORS-308, implemented in the framework of the Interreg-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme by Politehnica University Timisoara (Romania) and the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor (Serbia) met online on 27 November 2020 to evaluate the results obtained during the implementation of the project. The balance sheet is positive: workshops were held in communities within the project’s target areas. They continued online once traveling and social gathering restrictions were installed with the outbreak of COVID-19 health crisis. Research activities have been carried out to test the power of plants to extract heavy metals from soils polluted due to mining activities. The desired education and research network was successfully developed. The members of the Steering Committee also prepared the agenda for the project closing conference to be held on Thursday, 3 December 2020, starting at 13:00, also online.
